Introducing the Plus Section

We are very happy to announce a new addition to our apparel offerings in store and online: extended and plus sizes! The new pieces will be showcasing everything from jumpsuits and dresses, to swimsuits and pants. We have been avid lovers of these designers for a while-- so to have them offer plus sizes is really exciting!

Altar Houseline, our flagship apparel line that is made here in Portland, has been offering plus sizes since the start of 2018. We are adding new pieces every month so keep checking the site for the most up-to-date additions!  Custom sizing options are also available by email inquiry (at no additional charge, for real!). Sizes available are S-XXXL.

Did we mention that we now have extended sizes for swimwear!? Yes, you heard that correctly. All of us at the shop have loved Theif & Bandit for a while, so when we saw the new prints on the swimsuits we had to get them!  They have been a staple brand in the shop in a range of ready-to-wear pieces, but their swimwear might be our favorite work we've seen! They offer sizes XS-XXL. Allihalla is locally owned and operated and has items available in sizes XS-XXXL. Get these cuties fast before they sell out!

New to Altar this year are two women-owned, American-made companies: The New Blak and Jibri, both offering dresses and separates available in ranging sizes. Jibri ranges include 10-28 and New Blak offers XS-XXL. One of our favorite pieces is a pretty black dress that is perfect for any event and outing and can be easily dressed up or down.

Of course, Portland has a few longstanding plus brands who have been putting in the work for years. Claire Doody's line, Copper Union, has been setting the tone for this apparel movement for a long time including her producing role for the plus-sized apparel fashion show, Knock Out (which is seriously one of the best fashion events ALL year). We love her attention to print and color story. Her garments are bold yet relatable and absolutely beautifully constructed.
